Description:
Boston, Massachusetts, USA has been selected to host the ILA’s 12th Annual Global Leadership Conference. The conference will occur October 27 – 30, 2010, at the Marriot Copley Place in downtown Boston. The 2010 Conference Chair will be Dr. Sherry Penny, University of Massachusetts Boston, College of Management:
Leadership in greater Boston is changing as it is around the world. The demographic shifts here have been dramatic. Boston is the right place to be in October 2010 to explore with ILA where leadership should be headed in the future and how we can all be part of that conversation. What challenges do we see for leaders in the future? What differences do leaders make? Will we see leadership that is more collaborative and inclusive in the future? Plan to join us!
ILA’s annual global leadership conferences bring together leadership educators and scholars, business and community leaders, graduate and undergraduate students, leadership consultants and coaches, and others with a passion for leadership to share ideas and practices. Past host cities include: Guadalajara, Mexico; Washington, DC, USA; Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Chicago, IL, USA; Vancouver, Canada, and Los Angeles, CA, USA. ILA Vice President for Internal Affairs, Gama Perruci, answers the question, “Why Boston?”
We always try to alternate between holding the conference in the United States one year and in a non-U.S. site the next. Following Prague, we will be back in the United States. Since the last U.S. conference was on the west coast, it made sense to look at possibilities on the east coast. Boston quickly emerged as a great choice. Aside from its easy accessibility to travelers coming from abroad, it has a rich culture and history. Boston will be a wonderful venue to explore the ways leadership intersects the different constituencies represented at ILA.
The conference planning committee is already developing an exciting program for the Boston Conference, and the Call for Proposals will be announced in the coming months. Please send your questions, suggestions, or ideas for the 2010 Global Leadership Conference in Boston, to Josh Tarr, ILA Coordinator of Conferences and Member Communities at jtarr@ila-net.org
